Disney Very Merrytime Cruise Day 4: Day at Sea on Christmas Day

December 25, 2016: We woke up Christmas morning to a beautiful day at sea.

Cookies and Cocoa for Santa, and a letter he left explaining that he left their presents at our home.

We opened our stockings and a few small presents I had brought with us or we purchased on-board.

Christmas Morning in the Atrium

After breakfast for the kids in Cabanas, (we were going to Palo in a few hours), we headed to the Atrium for some Christmas fun! We stayed in our Xmas pajamas and took photos with characters, near the tree, and around the ship. We waved to Santa who must have been so tired after delivering presents all night. We also had some cookies and cocoa provided in the lobby.

Hi Santa!

A Day At Sea

After photos, we took the kids to the nursery and Oceaneers Club so we could have brunch in Palo! It’s one of our favorite things to do on the ship. It’s quiet, the food is out-of-this-world and it lets us reconnect on our own for a bit.

Amazing desserts in Palo!

After we ate, we got our bathing suits on and had some splash time at Nemo’s Splash pad. Lily could do that Mr. Ray slide all day.

We stopped in Vanellope’s Sweets and Treats to check out all the goodies, with the promise that we would do the racecar sundae on our next cruise (we kept that promise)!

We got ready for dinner and enjoyed an amazing Christmas Day feast. I got the Hot Spinach and Artichoke dip with Pumpernickel bread and the Roasted Turkey and Double Chocolate Yule Log. Jesse got the Pumpkin Curry which he still talks about that amazing curry to this day! (edit: I found a photo on his phone of the infamous curry!)

It looked so good, I took a bite before realizing I needed to take a photo!

After the evening show we headed to our stateroom to begin packing up. Waiting for us as a Christmas gift from Disney was this wonderful box of Chocolate truffles. We had a MAGICAL time on our Christmas cruise, and we would definitely sail over Christmas again as it was a really special way to celebrate as a family. It took some preparation and hiding of supplies ahead of time to make sure we had everything we needed like stockings, hooks, decor, presents and outfits. I managed to do it in under week since it was a very last-minute booking, but it is possible to pull off a Magical surprise Christmas cruise!

Thank you for following along on our Very Merrytime adventure. Stay tuned for my trip review of our 2017 Very Merrytime cruise!
